Songwriter, vocal producer and former background vocalist for R&B hitmakers Chante Moore, Mya, Kenny Latimore and Destiny’s Childs’s Michelle Williams, Chelsea Cymone has been involved in the top tier of Houston’s music scene for a considerable amount of time considering her young age. With a musical foundation deeply rooted in the Baptist Church, Chelsea comes from a family of highly influential singers in her life.
Beginning to test her vocal chops at the tender age of five, Chelsea later parlayed her love of music and performance into attending the Houston High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where she graduated with concentrations in the classical arts as well as attaining a scholarship to attend Prairie View A&M University. With new focus in operatic performance, Chelsea also began to explore options singing as a background vocalist locally. This led to new opportunities for to travel internationally and perform in countries such as Japan and South Africa as a background vocalist and featured artist. Her experience allowed her to visualize what was actually attainable for her career.
Chelsea’s most recent experiences includes several performances for the Houston Mayors inaugural Christmas and Thanksgiving parades, the Houston Symphony, exclusive industry mixers as well as working with former popular contestant on NBC’s The Voice and original Girl’s Tyme (Destiny’s Child) member Tamar Davis to name a few.
With hopes to bring a fresh sense of artistry back into the music industry, Chelsea aspires to be one of the most sought-after entertainers, vocalist, songwriters, and vocal producers while simultaneously working on original music.
